Cambodia's rich culture and complex history provide plenty of things to see and do with the renowned temples of Angkor being the country's top attraction. The mystical Ta Phrom is a highlight and best visited at dawn as the rising sun illuminates the jungle-covered temple ruins.
Elsewhere, the floating villages on Lake Tonle Sap provide a glimpse into a highly traditional way of life, while the country’s capital, Phnom Penh, sheds light on the brutality of Cambodia's years under the Khmer Rouge. For a more uplifting experience, visit during the annual Water Festival that takes place on the city’s riverfront, with boat races, food stalls and fireworks creating a lively atmosphere.
Itinerary
Day 1 : International outbound flight
Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Hong Kong.
Day 2 : Hong Kong
Arriving into Hong Kong it is easy to use the great transportation system. Hong Kong boasts a clean and efficient rail link which will whisk you from the airport to your Kowloon hotel in around twenty three minutes.
Day 3 : Hong Kong
You have today free to explore Hong Kong, one of the most exciting regions in Southeast Asia. Take in the views of Hong Kong from the ferry crossing, or take a ride on the peak tram and spend a few hours enjoying the array of shopping opportunities available.
Day 4 : Hong Kong
Another day to spend at your leisure. An interesting day trip is to take the ferry to Macau.
Day 5 : Phnom Penh
Take the airport express back to the airport for your flight to Phnom Penh. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You have a day to explore this capital city which has emerged from its turbulent past to become a safe and cosmopolitan city.
Day 6 : Siem Reap
This morning you will privately transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Siem Reap.On arrival you will be met and taken to your hotel.This afternoon you will go and visit the stunning Angkor Wat temple with your guide. You will then relax and watch the sun set over the temples before returning to your hotel.
Day 7 : Siem Reap
This morning you will visit the largest lake in Cambodia where you will board a private boat and cruise to visit the fascinating floating villages.You have the afternoon at leisure.
Day 8 : Siem Reap
In the early morning visit one of our favourite temples, Ta Prohm. By far the most atmospheric of all the ruins, it has been reclaimed by the jungle and is being crushed by massive tree roots. Seeing this temple at dawn avoids the crowds and allows you to witness the temple emerge slowly from the dark until it reveals itself in all its ruined finery. Later you get to visit the Bayon, the temple made famous by its enigmatic faces carved into the stone.
Day 9 : Kep
After a leisurely breakfast you will be driven to the airport for your flight to the coast. Here you will have four nights in the relaxed seaside town of Kep.
Day 10 : Kep
Day at leisure in Kep.
Day 11 : Kep
Another day to relax by the pool, enjoy seafood, or head out exploring.
Day 12 : Kep
Day at leisure.
Day 13 : International return flight
Enjoy the morning before you head back to Phnom Penh later in the day for your flight back to Hong Kong.
Day 14 : International return flight
Arrive home today to complete your journey.
