Day 1 Welcome to Crete!

Do you feel it – the ancient, breathtaking atmosphere that is Crete? If not, you're about to!  Enjoy a private transfer to your comfortable accommodations after landing in Crete. Then, find yourself at home at your luxury hotel room before enjoying your first full vacation day! If you want to start immediately, the Aldemar Royal Mare offers many activities for guests to enjoy, both water-related and land activities. Choose your activity for the rest of the day then finish with a delicious meal at one of the on-site restaurants.

Day 2 Crete

Just a few minutes away from your luxury resort is the Crete Aquarium (known as CRETAquarium Thalassokosmos). This aquarium is home to over 2,000 marine species, some of which you probably haven't even seen before! Put on your learning cap as you prepare to stroll through the aquariuam, gaining knowledge about the local fish, huge groupers, sand tiger sharks, octopuses, and more!

Day 3 Crete

Next stop: Knossos Palace.  Head out of your hotel to visit the 3,000-year-old masterpiece which is believed to have been the seat of King Minos (son of Zeus and Europa, also one of the three judges in the Underworld in Greek Mythology). Unfortunately, most of the palace has been plunged into ruinous remains, but you can still tread through the courtyard. It's where the royal family entertained guests, so perhaps you can imagine yourself as royalty. Lastly, you can walk the Royal Way and gaze at the epic Throne Room. 

Day 4 Crete

If the tingling sensation of adventure is still keeping you up at night, you'll want to take this day to explore the expansive Samaria Gorge. This natural attraction is a 16km hike carved between two huge walls of rock, which you'll need to pass in order to get your reward – the charming coastal village of Agia Roumeli! Once you're there, take a few moments of stillness as you embrace the loving atmosphere of this peaceful, beach-side village. Don't forget to be on the lookout during your walk over! You might spot the endangered kri-kri, a feral goat who can seemingly defy gravity with its expert rock climbing. 

Day 5 Crete

For even more historical experiences, take yourself to Chania's Venetian Harbour for a leisurely stroll through a bustling port built in the early 1300s. The area is now filled with eateries, shops, and the city's prized possessions: the impressive lighthouse. Alternatively, you can continue the trend of visiting large palaces by taking a trip to Malia's Minoan Palace. This is the third largest palace in all of Crete, again home to one of King Minos' Brothers: Sarpedon.

Day 6 Depart Crete!

Wave goodbye to the beautiful island of Crete! Make sure all your bags are fully packed and you don't forget anything at the hotel. When it's time, take your private transfer to the airport and have a great flight back home.
