What's this trip about?

This 6-day trip to Northern California will leave you craving more!  With visits to exciting San Francisco and the quaint and laid-back vibe of the Sonoma wine region, you'll get the best of both worlds.   Start in one of California's most beautiful cities, rich with artistic culture, diverse neighborhoods, Victorian architecture, and top-class cuisine. Of course, San Francisco is also famous for its bright blue bay and fascinating political history!  Visit the sea lions near Fisherman's Wharf, take an obligatory picture in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, have dinner in Chinatown, and take a ride down Lombard Street! Be sure to check out Pacific Heights, Haight-Ashbury, Union Square, and other must-see neighborhoods.  Next, skip the crowds of Napa and drive about 50 miles north to Sonoma.  This is a food, wine, and nature lovers paradise!  With more wineries than you can count, you're sure to discover quite a few bottles you love (and want to take home as a souvenir!).  Spend time in charming Sonoma Plaza, exploring the many cafes, galleries, and restaurants set in beautiful historic buildings.  Perhaps rent a bicycle and spend an afternoon riding the storybook roads to different wineries nearby.  Walk the coastline at the beach and set up a picnic with locally-grown cheese and produce.  The beautiful surroundings and relaxed lifestyle of this area will make you never want to leave.
