Short Description
Explore Athens and enjoy the old and new classics. Take a tour of the city including the world famous Acropolis and Panathenaikon Stadium, the place of the first modern Olympic Games. Sail away on a three-day cruise with stunning ports of calls like Mykonos, home to celebrities and jet setters, Kusadasi, gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus and Patmos, where you can visit the Monastery of St. John, which holds a priceless treasure of icons, illuminated manuscripts and vestments adorned with precious stones. Then on to Crete, home to the Palace of King Minos and the myth of the Minotaur, and the romantic island of Santorini, featuring incredible sunsets and panoramic views. A wonderful way to see the highlights of the Greek Islands in a short amount of time. Have your own Odyssey in the land of Homer.
Itinerary
Day 1: Athens:
Upon arrival in Athens, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the Day at leisure.
Day 2: Athens
Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast board the motor coach for a morning tour of Athens. Visits include the Acropolis and its museum. Spend the afternoon at leisure shopping at the Monastiraki Flea Market or exploring this fascinating city on your own.
Day 3: Athens
Meals: Breakfast
Day at leisure or take an optional excursion to Delphi, Mycenae and Epidaurus.
Day 4: Piraeus / Mykonos:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast transfer to Piraeus to board the 3- night cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey. Your first port-of-call is Mykonos. Enjoy the whitewashed houses and the picturesque windmills.
Day 5: Kusadasi / Patmos
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Arrive in Kusadasi where you can take an optional excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus. Then on to Patmos where you can take an optional excursion to the Monastery and Cave where John the Divine wrote the Book of Revelation.
Day 6: Heraklion / Santorini
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Arrive in Heraklion, the capital of Crete. Take an optional excursion to the Palace of Knossos, the center of the Minoan civilization. Sail on to Santorini, the volcano island, one of the most unforgettable places in the world. Walk along the narrow streets of the town of Thera or visit the beautiful village of Oia, perched on the rim of the caldera offering panoramic views of breathtaking beauty.
Day 7: Piraeus / Athens
Meals: Breakfast
Return to Piraeus (approximately 6 am at port). Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Athens airport.
