This trip was to be The Best of Ireland. Instead it turned out to be the Best highlights of Ireland. We spent too many hours on the bus with only a limited number of rest stops. When a rest stop was made it would be in a quaint village that needed exploration and the rest stop would be no more than 20 mins. A very poor trip indeed.

There were several side tours/visits/trips that were inexpensive ($20-30 per person) that should have been included in the base price of the tour. We felt we were being nickeled and dimed.

The itinerary was very good. The knowledge of our tour director was outstanding, The expertise of our driver amazing. There were places we were not particularly interested in but realise that you can't please everyone all the time. The horse stud and Waterfords in Ireland weren't our favourites, but everything else in Ireland was terrific. A bit more time in the highlands of Scotland would be good, and unless you are into golf St Andrews was not of interest. Having said all that we had a fantastic experience with a coach full of lovely fellow travellers and saw some wonderful places.

Only disappointment was visit to Edinburgh Castle that we paid for as part of our tour but was cancelled due to gas leak. We would have liked to have Trafalgar provide us with tickets for a visit the following
day as we had the time. Instead we had to pay 34 pounds for them.
This should be refunded to us.

Itinerary was well planned but time given for each was too short, too rushed and we seemed to compete with the other Trafalgar group. Even our tour guide felt the pressure and seemed stressed.
