Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVE SALT LAKE CITY

Welcome to Salt Lake City. Arrive at your hotel and enjoy some time on your own this afternoon to relax or venture out to see some of the main attractions. This evening, meet your fellow adventurers at 6 p.m. for a Kick-off Party with your Travel Director. Kick-Off Party Hotel Little America

Day 2 SALT LAKE CITY – MONTPELIER – JACKSON

Put on your cowboy hats, pull up your boots and get ready to create memories that will last a lifetime. Head north and enter Wyoming for your first encounter with the mighty Rocky Mountains. Follow trails blazed by rugged mountain men centuries ago. Stop at the Oregon Trail Center in Montpelier to get a glimpse into the thrills and challenges of the Old Trail. Enjoy lunch in a covered wagon before crossing the famous Oregon Trail to the authentic Old West town of Jackson. Passing through the town's famous landmark arch of tangled elk antlers, take a walk back in time as you explore the Town Square with its Western boardwalks, craft boutiques and ice cream shops—all surrounded by the majestic Rockies. This evening, take a wagon ride out to the river for a rib-stickin' Chuckwagon Regional Meal. Full Breakfast Regional Meal Hotel Rustic Inn Creekside Resort and Spa

Day 3 JACKSON – GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK – 320 GUEST RANCH

Rise early if you'd like to rollick down the Snake River on a scenic optional wilderness float trip (seasonal). Later, discover dramatic Grand Teton National Park. Travel onward to Montana's Big Sky Country and settle in for big fun at an 1898 homestead where you will enjoy a classic Western dinner. Full Breakfast Hotel 320 Guest Ranch Authentic Accommodation

Day 4 320 GUEST RANCH – YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK (2 NIGHTS)

Giddy up cowboys and girls. There are many fun choices on the Ranch this morning: join a whitewater rafting trip down the Gallatin River or saddle up and ride with a real-life horse wrangler in the Montana wilderness. After lunch at the Ranch, visit The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone before entering one of America's most famous National Parks, Yellowstone. Enjoy a two night stay inside Yellowstone National Park, where each lodge has its own unique setting and atmosphere. Lodges featured are the Old Faithful Inn, Lake Yellowstone Hotel, Old Faithful Snow Lodge, Grant Village, and the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Specific lodges will be confirmed in your documents. Full Breakfast Hotel National Park Lodges

Day 5 YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME

Discover Yellowstone's most amazing natural wonders, including the thundering Yellowstone Falls, a multitude of hot gushing geysers and countless brilliantly coloured simmering thermal springs, bubbling mud pools and hissing steam vents, highlighted with a visit to Old Faithful, which has been spouting steam water regularly for thousands of years. Do you know how to to locate a bear or tell what it's been eating? Join your Local Specialist for a guided stroll around the boardwalks of Yellowstone and learn the answer, plus even more cool facts about the park's abundance of wildlife. Full Breakfast

Day 6 YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – CODY – SHERIDAN

This morning, say farewell to majestic Yellowstone. Head east to the town of Cody, named for its most famous native son, Buffalo Bill. Get a glimpse into the fascinating history of the American West at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West where you'll experience the culture of the cowboy, the role of the firearm in the early days and the culture and art of the Plains Indians. Then it's on to Sheridan to check in to your hotel. Full Breakfast Hotel Holiday Inn Sheridan

Day 7 SHERIDAN – KEYSTONE – RAPID CITY (2 NIGHTS)

After a hearty breakfast, your journey continues on to South Dakota. Visit Crazy Horse Memorial where you'll gaze in awe at the towering tribute to legendary Lakota leader Crazy Horse being carved into the mountain and discover the culture of his people. The evening is yours to explore in Rapid City. Or perhaps take an optional trip to the moving Mount Rushmore Lighting Ceremony, a chance to see one of America's most famous landmarks from a different perspective. Full Breakfast Hotel Alex Johnson

Day 8 RAPID CITY AND BLACK HILLS EXCURSION

The first stop this morning is Bear Country USA, a wildlife park featuring the world's largest private viewing habitat of American black bear. Enjoy a drive through this spectacular and unique park and walk through the Wildlife Center, where younger and smaller animals frolic in their outdoor exhibits. Next, head to the famous Black Hills of South Dakota to view one of America's most iconic landmarks: the presidents sculpted at Mount Rushmore. You have seen the pictures of Mount Rushmore, but they pale in comparison to seeing this majestic site in person. It took 400 artisans 14 years to carve the sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln into the mountain. This evening, join your fellow adventurers at a Farewell featuring a Native American dancer. Full Breakfast Farewell

Day 9 DEPART RAPID CITY

Your Wild West adventure comes to an end after breakfast. Say so long to your newfound friends this morning and transfer to the Rapid City Regional Airport for your flight home. Full Breakfast

They've lost my £10,000 at the first hurdle!

A potential customer in the process of booking a tour for nearly £10,000 with Trafalgar, who thankfully stopped before it was too late.

We had a few questions to ask before final completion of our booking, but this utterly USELESS company can't even provide a sales team to answer the phone or web chat in a timely and efficient manner. After several failed attempts to contact them I decided to look here on TrustPilot to see if I was just being unlucky, and WOW thank goodness I did! I note their customer service reviews have been consistently atrocious for a very long time, without any responses or comments from Trafalgar, and apparently without them taking any action to rectify their appalling performance.

Over the years I've found many companies with slick and efficient sales teams but poor after-sales, but Trafalgar appear not even to have a competent sales department! This defies any semblance of commercial logic. If they can't even afford to employ sales staff how can they expect to make sales and take any money? They have certainly failed to take mine. Just staggering incompetence at the very first encounter, so heaven knows how bad they would be thereafter, and I'm not waiting around to find out.

Many thanks to all here who have taken the trouble to write reviews. Looks like you have saved me a whole pile of grief.

We just finished The Best of Canada tour with Trafalgar and it was first class every day. Hotels were beautiful and located in great areas. Bus and driver were great. Tour director was the best! I would recommend them. And we,like others, had 2 trips canceled and we waited along with thousands of others for a refund. But we knew it was going to take time and patience is a wonderful thing! We will travel with them again.

Trafalgar cancelled our tour booking without our consent because I asked about if there was availability on another tour. Never did they mention that enquiring about another tour they cancel your existing booking. Now the tour is full and I have spent $18,000 on Qantas airfares and accom. Tour booked in Jan 2023 for Sept 2023 tour. Nobody takes responsible and nobody will call me to discuss. Family of 4 holiday ruined,.

Hotels were 1 star. No air conditioner, old, dated, some had no stairs others were just gross. Like drink some wine and fall in bed so you don’t notice the grunge. It seemed unorganized and chaotic. Not enough variety. The included meals had no choice. We usually ended up having to pay out of pocket for meals after the free ones. The only redeeming quality was the coach driver.

Customer service is terrible. I have been calling for 2 weeks with insane amount of time on hold just to be disconnected. I have emailed numerous times with the exact tour that I would like to book with no return email.
