Cartagena is a small coastal city in Colombia, and a growing tourist spot. With miles of beautiful sandy beaches just offshore, and the beautiful old town district, there's something for everyone. The old town of Cartagena looks and feels like it was dropped in from another time. Originally a military outpost, old cannons are still standing along the stone walls surrounding the interior where winding cobblestoned streets, hanging flower pots, lovely shops, cafes and restaurants, bring to mind Europe rather than South America.
