Although Santiago Island is not one of the main islands that springs to mind, most Galapagos cruises will include a visit to Santiago in the itinerary.
When visiting the Galapagos, it's important to pack light, but definitely include a pair of water shoes and close toed walking shoes. Bring layers, including a light sweatshirt for nighttime.
You'll also want to bring strong sun protection, such as hats, long sleeve swimming gear, and strong sunscreen.
Observing the wildlife is a key element of Galapagos travel, but remember not to ever pet, feed, or touch the animals even though they are used to human presence and will allow you to get very close.
