Itinerary

Day 1 : San Francisco

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to San Francisco. On arrival in San Francisco make your own way to your downtown hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax.

Day 2 : San Francisco

This morning join a guided bike tour that takes you to view some of the city's most iconic sights, including the Golden Gate Bridge. This afternoon you are free to explore the city - perhaps visit the former prison island of Alcatraz, see the sea lions at Pier 39, take a cable car through the hilly streets to Chinatown or enjoy a seafood lunch at Fisherman's Wharf.

Day 3 : Sonoma

Collect your hire car and drive north out of the city towards the rolling vineyards of the Sonoma Valley.The afternoon is free to visit some of the many excellent wineries and, of course, sample their delicious wines.

Day 4 : Sonoma

Today you join a full day wine tour to some of the best Sonoma valley vineyards. You will be taken around by an experienced guide and have the opportunity to taste and learn about the area's produce.

Day 5 : Mendocino

Drive up the beautiful California coast to Mendocino. Here you can take a trip on the "skunk train" to explore the giant redwood forests.

Day 6 : Trinidad

Admire the enormity and beauty of the magnificent giant redwood trees as you drive through the Avenue of the Giants to Redwood National Park. Some of the largest trees in the world grow here, some being over 370 feet high. Spend the night in nearby Trinidad near to the national park.

Day 7 : Trinidad

Today you can enjoy a full day private tour in to the famous Redwood National Park. You will stand underneath some of the tallest trees on earth and learn about the ecology of the area.

Day 8 : Gold Beach

Take your time to drive along the coast to Gold Beach, in leafy southern Oregon. There is time this afternoon to relax on the beach.

Day 9 : Crater Lake National Park

Leaving the beaches behind, drive inland through glorious mountain scenery to Crater Lake National Park.

Day 10 : Crater Lake National Park

The beauty of volcanic Crater Lake National Park awaits you today. Don't miss a boat trip around Wizard Island to really appreciate the beauty of the lake's iridescent blue waters, but there are many delightful walking trails to explore too.

Day 11 : Sisters

Head north to the outdoor activities town of Bend. Many activities are available here including mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, horse riding, ATV tours and some lovely walking trails. Also, you may wish to visit the High Desert Museum for some fascinating local history insights or wander into the boutiques and restaurants downtown.

Day 12 : Portland, Oregon

Continue driving north to Oregon's eco-chic city, Portland. You may want to wander up to Piggot's Point and watch the sunset over this relaxed west coast city.

Day 13 : Portland, Oregon

Join a fantastic trip this afternoon to explore the scenic Columbia Gorge, looking out for wildlife along the way, followed by a visit to a couple of charming local wineries.

Day 14 : Cannon Beach

Enjoy a leisurely drive as you make your way northwest to the coast at Cannon Beach. This must surely be one of Oregon's most picturesque beaches with beautiful Haystack Rock providing the focal point.

Day 15 : Cannon Beach

Enjoy a day exploring Cannon Beach, renowned for its windswept coastal scenery. One of Oregon's most popular seaside towns, it is full of restaurants, pubs and galleries to spend the day pottering around.

Day 16 : Lake Crescent

Drive north into Washington State and head to the delightfully scenic Olympic National Park. Spend two nights at the park's lovely Lake Crescent.Spend the afternoon enjoying the magnificent driftwood-strewn beaches and moss-draped rainforests of Olympic National Park. Look for Roosevelt deer and perhaps take a boating trip on the lake or enjoy a scenic walk.

Day 17 : Lake Crescent

Today you can relax at Lake Crescent and enjoy the surrounding views over the water and mountains.

Day 18 : Seattle

Leaving Olympic National Park, catch the ferry to Washington State's capital, Seattle. After returning your car, the remainder of the day is free to explore this cosmopolitan city.

Day 19 : Seattle

See the Space Needle, walk along the Embarcadero, ride on the monorail and take in the beautiful scenery from Kerry's Park; today is the day to explore this water-front city. Don't miss the Boeing factory, Pike Place Market or a visit to nearby Mount St. Helens.

Day 20 : International return flight

The morning is free in Seattle before making your way to Seattle Airport to board your onward flight.

Day 21 : International return flight

Arrive home today to complete your journey.
