Day 1: Start Oslo

God dag! That’s good day in Norwegian and it’s definitely a good day for an Arctic adventure. We'll meet our Manager and Contiki crew to say ‘Hei’ here in the Norwegian capital, Tromso (AKA the Gateway of the Arctic). Expect stunning arctic scenery, a vibrant cultural scene. Plus a chance to see the Northern Lights!

Comfort Xpress Youngstorget (or similar)

Day 2: Oslo to Tromso

Bye Oslo! Today we’re taking a train to the airport and soaring over to Tromsø, our gateway to the Arctic Circle. We’ll start with an orientation tour of Tromso, and after that you’re free to sample the region’s nightlife. This is the world’s northernmost university t...

Day 3: Tromso

Even though the sun doesn’t rise, you’ll need to be ready to rise and shine for some Arctic action this morning. Glide through the Arctic fjords (on a super cool hybrid-electric boat). Panoramic views. Playful seals. And if you're lucky, once-in-a-lifetime sightings o...

Day 4: Tromso to Overnight Cruise

Wake up to fresh Arctic air and a free morning. For panoramic views of the city, we'll ride the cable car up to Mount Storsteinen. If you're energetic this morning you could try a polar plunge and sauna for a true Arctic experience. It'll be hard to contain our excite...

Day 5: Overnight Cruise via Honningsvag

Ahoy! We hope the ship rocked you soundly to sleep. This morning we sail through the Magerøysund sound and after an early stop in Hammerfest, we arrive in Honningsvåg. From here, you can join an excursion to the spectacular North Cape (subject to availability), the n...

Day 6: Overnight Cruise to Kirkenes

The last port on our voyage northward is Kirkenes. Located at 30°E, we’re now further east than Istanbul! The Russian border is close by, and all signs are written in both Norwegian and Russian. Here in Kirkenes, you'll have the unique opportunity to experience dogsle...

Day 7: Kirkenes to Oslo

By now you should be completely chilled. But pull on your mittens, we're headed to the airport and hopping aboard a flight to Oslo. Oslo is lively at night, fuelled by the fiery local spirit akevitt. Many Norwegians go out late after a vorspiel (pre-party), so hit the town after 10pm and live it up with the locals.

Breakfast

Day 8: Oslo

It’s cold outside but our hearts are full of warm and lasting memories as we say our goodbyes after breakfast. The Norwegians have an expression meaning ‘see you soon’ - ‘Sees!’

We’re firm believers that life’s greatest experiences are made better by the people you share them with. That’s why Contiki invented group travel for young people in 1962 and we’ve spent the past 53 years perfecting it. You’ll explore amazing destinations with a group of 18-35 year olds from around the world who share your passion for adventure, good times and creating memories that define what it is to be young, wild and free.

No two travellers are the same and we know that, which is why we offer eight unique ways to explore the world. We have a number of options to choose from to create a vacation that’s perfect for you, from budget to accommodation style.

We're all about exploring the world with like-minded people, which is why we only run trips for 18-35 year olds, to celebrate being young, spirited and curious. You can expect to join a group of 18-53 awesome people from around the world on our Europe, Australia, North America and New Zealand trips, and in Asia and Latin America it's all about small group adventures with up to 25 travellers. Don't worry if you're not traveling as a couple or with a friend from home – though there are plenty of pairs, 50% of our travellers set off solo, meaning you'll have a ton of opportunities to make new friends.

With over 270 trips around the world and plenty of departure dates to work into your schedule, you'll never be short of options on where to go for your next great adventure.
