Highlights of this full day excursion includes a visit to the tranquil Tai O Fishing Village, and a steep mountain climb to Po Lin Monastery on the Ngong Ping plateau in Hong Kong. Founded in 1927, the Buddhist monastery of Po Lin features the impressive Tian Tan Buddha, one of the tallest outdoor seated Buddha in the world. A vegetarian lunch will be served at the local restaurant. The tour ends with a spectacular ride aboard the Skyrail cable car offering stunning views as you descend to Tung Chung (Should the Skyrail be canceled due to inclement weather or other safety reasons, alternative transportation will be arranged).
