That’s why on this 4-day vacation, we’ve handled the logistics and details for you. We've arranged your hotel reservations, daily breakfast, and sightseeing. Plus, we assume you are not familiar with Budapest and do not speak the language, so we've arranged the services of a Local Host®. This one-of-a-kind feature offered only by Monograms ensures you'll have a "friend in the city" who will answer questions, offer suggestions, arrange activities for you, and help ensure your vacation is all you want it to be. Your vacation begins when you arrive in Budapest, as we can pick you up at the airport and seamlessly whisk you to your selected hotel. After all, why deal with the hassles of airport transfers when you are in a new city? At your hotel, your Local Host will greet you with a warm welcome, help you get settled, and present you with materials to familiarize you with the city. The next morning, after included breakfast, we’ll pick you up at your hotel for guided sightseeing with a local expert. We’ll take you to Heroes' Square, built in 1896 to represent 1,000 years of Hungarian history. We’ll also take you for a drive up to Fishermen's Bastion, built from 1895 to 1902 and where you’ll have wonderful views of the city, including the beautiful Parliament building. This city has changed so much in recent history. Your expert Local Guide will be able to share inside stories with you that only locals would know, as well as what it is like to live here. You’ll also have a full day to explore on your own (with the support of your Local Host, of course). You may want to visit St. Stephen's Basilica, where you can climb to the top for magnificent 360-degree views of the city, or the Parliament, erected between 1884 and 1904 and one of Europe’s largest Parliament buildings. Perhaps shop for paprika and other specialties at the Great Market Hall, an indoor farmers' market. Budapest has many museums, so you may want to visit one of them, such as the House of Terror, where you’ll learn how this building played an important role in both the Nazi and Communist regimes. You may just want to relax at one of the thermal baths. Your Local Host will have suggestions on how you can spend your time and can help arrange the activities you desire. Budapest is a fascinating city, and we want you to make the most of your stay.
