Or keep your feet on the ground while exploring the sky at the Lowell Observatory. Perhaps challenge yourself with a hike to the Emerald pools before taking the scenic Mount Carmel Highway admiring views of waterfalls and slick rocks, watching out for spectacular formations like the Great Arch of Zion and the distinctive Checkerboard Mesa. The red-orange-pink hued hoodoos of Bryce Canyon are your final stop for today. Explore the rim, learning how the canyon was formed over millennia by the erosion of sandstone and limestone, before spending the afternoon at leisure. Choose to blaze your own trail on a one-hour horseback ride in the Dixie National Forest, climbing Bristlecone Pine Ridge with 1,500-year-old Bristlecone Pines (one of the oldest living things on the North American continent). Our adventure through the Old West almost at its end, we get gussied up for a Farewell dinner.

This type of holiday is great if you’re looking for an organised trip with itinerary, accommodation, meals & portage looked after. A group atmosphere is also a plus as you experience things through other people’s eyes and chat about sights on the way.

Service was good. Some hotels were not centrally located. Some of the included dining options were not good, but not great.
