Day 1: Athens
Accommodation options: NJV Athens Plaza, Herodion Hotel, Hotel Grande Bretagne & New Hotel
Arriving into Athens you’ll be met by your driver and taken to your hotel. Later in the day you’ll visit a local gastronomy house to learn about Greek olive oil and wine variants.
Day 2: Athens

Today you’ll meet with your private guide and embark on a walking tour of the Acropolis followed by a visit to the fascinating Acropolis Museum. The rest of the day is yours to further explore the city.
Day 3: Athens

This morning you’ll meet your guide and begin a walking tour of Athens with a focus on food tasting. You’ll visit Athens Central Market and visit some local food producers to sample their goods.
Day 4: Kastraki
Accommodation: Doupiani House Hotel
This morning you’ll meet your driver, bid farewell to Athens and journey north to Kastraki. On the way you’ll stop at the town of Trikala, where you’ll have free time to explore. You can also visit a local distillery to taste ouzo and tsipouro as well as some of the wines produced there.
Day 5: Kastraki
Accommodation: Doupiani House Hotel
Today meet your guide and explore Meteora, famous for its giant rock formations and the monasteries which are perched atop them. You will visit three of the monasteries that are still used today, before having the rest of the day free to explore the village of Kastraki or relax in your hotel.
Day 6: Galaxidi
Accommodation: Hotel Ganimede
This morning meet with your driver and drive south to Galaxidi, a quaint seaside town located on the edge of the Peloponnese not far from Delphi. The rest of the day is yours to explore the town or nearby beaches.
Day 7: Galaxidi
Accommodation: Hotel Ganimede
Today you will journey to Delphi, where you’ll meet your guide and explore the ancient site and the adjacent Archaeological Museum of Delphi. Your guide will bring the site to life and explain its lure for pilgrims wishing to consult the oracle.
Day 8: Nafplio
Accommodation options: Hotel Ippoliti & Nafplia Palace Villas
Meet your driver and transfer to Nafplio, located in the heart of the Peloponnese. On the way you will stop at Mycenae for a guided tour of the archaeological site and afterwards visit a nearby winery for a tour and light lunch accompanied by some wine tasting.
Day 9: Nafplio
Accommodation options: Hotel Ippoliti & Nafplia Palace Villas
Today you’ll meet with your driver for a day exploring small local businesses around Nafplio. Your trip will include a visit to an ouzo distillery for a tour and tasting, a cheesemaker located in the heart of Nafplio, and a beekeeper for a tour of his hives and a taste of his award-winning honey.
Day 10: Nafplio
Accommodation options: Hotel Ippoliti & Nafplia Palace Villas
Meet with your driver and journey to Epidavros where you’ll begin a guided kayaking tour along the coastline to some underwater ruins. Here you’ll stop and have the opportunity to snorkel.
Day 11: Return home
Meet with your driver for your return transfer to Athens airport.

We wanted to let you know that the trip exceeded expectations. We appreciated, connected and enjoyed each of our guides as unique people who shared their cities and culture with us. The couple of snafus were handled competently- the missing bus passes, train schedules that still were not quite right all fixed with the help of our Orientation guide! Dana was a great last guide- giving us Insight into religious practices, culture and living in modern Japan.
The accommodations were fantastic, we felt spoiled by the attention.
Our experiences with the people of Japan were wonderful. The random people we met were friendly and helpful - the Japanese businessman who led us to our train to make sure we got on the right one when we were a bit confused by the Tokyo train system early on...comes to mind, our language barrier was forgiven. Occasionally the google translator was called into service, and google maps was a godsend! Each of our interactions with local folks turned into a story and adventure, such as the restaurant owner who wants to be a football player for Atlanta!
We took over 1200 pictures most are breathtaking. I am having trouble trimming things down for a slide show to share with family and friends that won't last an hour or more!
I will include just a few here with our thanks for putting together an experience that we both truly enjoyed and will remember!

What stars Audley are
All locations and accommodation including the staff therein, were brilliant. The icing on the cake however, came when our long haul flight was cancelled with only hours to spare. An hour after emailing James, who was going on holiday that day, we had overnight accommodation organised, how to get there and what to do when there. When you’re a long way from home and something like happens, Audley will sort it. No problem. Thankyou.
Japan , our holiday of a lifetime
Audley took into account our budget. They booked mid range hotels that were fabulous and close to train networks for ease of travel.
I cannot think of one criticism at all. The G7 summit threw up some last minute problems with our booking which Jo dealt with on our behalf , she fully consulted us throughout.
Audley ensured we had the most amazing holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending them based on my personal experience and would definitely use them again if I were to have another long distance holiday.
