What travelers are saying

"We joined the Intrepid “Real Italy Food Tour” and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our tour guide, Micol, was very knowledgeable and provided us with lots of good information. It seems Micol knew many of the staff of the venues we visited, including the pasta making class we attended. Our group of 11 travelers was extremely compatible, which greatly added to the fun and enjoyment."

"A Culture Trip curated trip is a must for anyone burnt out planning their own trips or going to a remote or unfamiliar area. Having a local insider was the highlight of the trip. From the moment we landed to the moment we had to go through security to leave, we were completely taken care of. What travelers are saying

"This tour was one of our favorites. The tour leaders (Claudio and Tiziana) were great. The Dolomites and Italian Alps were breathtaking and the bike paths and towns were well chosen to give us a great appreciation of this Alpine countryside. Once out of Venice you really feel like you are in the country with beautiful mountains, alpine chalets and in some areas mostly German speaking residents. The biking was mostly flat with some crazy fun downhill rides. Almost all of the cycling was on bike paths, so very safe and quiet riding. As expected, VBT delivered a great tour with very good accommodations, good food and a really great group of travellers."

Ruins & Archaeology Tour Selection Trips

  • Traveling to an ancient ruin or archaeological site can be half the fun, whether it’s a guided trek to Machu Picchu, a Nile cruise to Luxor or a Mekong River cruise to Angkor Wat
  • While you can visit ancient ruins on your own, having a knowledgeable guide along can enhance your experience considerably
  • Many volunteer vacations combine assisting archaeologists on their digs with local sightseeing, so you get the best of both worlds
  • You don’t need to be an expert in the field to assist on an archaeological dig; an enthusiastic attitude is more important
  • You don’t have to travel great distances to find archaeological tours; many are offered in the American West and Midwest, Mexico and Canada
  • Lesser known archaeological sites abound around the world that can be equally stunning as the most famous ones; a good tour can take you to them
  • Archaeology tours can run the gamut, from a day touring a site, to actually experiencing a dig. If you're interested in the latter, be sure you dress appropriately for the weather and know that you'll be standing or sitting in the same position for extended periods!
  • Ancient sites and dig sites usually have very uneven, loose ground, and not always clear pathways. Wear comfortable shoes!
