What travelers are saying

"It was a great itinerary with focus on flowers in different areas. We saw castles with amazing gardens as well as the home & gardens of Claude Monet. The ferry from Dover was a nice change of transport & also comfortable. Windmill and wooden clog making were on the tour as well as viewing Paris 360 from the tallest building. The hotels were great & close to attractions when there was a bit of free time. The Coach was extremely comfy & had wifi. Our tour director, Carl, was a gem and made the trip interesting-even in the crazy Parisian rush hour traffic. People forget this but when you go to visit attractions, often the parking lot is a distance from that attraction so wear comfortable walking shoes. Enjoy your trip!"

Visits

Georgetown, Kuala Lumpur

Highlights

  • You’ll explore the rolling green Carmeron highlands, blanketed by tea plantations and strawberry fields, and then trek through the mystical Mossy Forest to learn more about the unique plants living beneath the sea of moss
  • Stay in a special eco lodge on the edge of the jungle that’s fighting for the preservation of Ulu Muda Forest with research and awareness, low footprint practices and ecotourism principles.
  • Take not one but two river cruises deep in the Ulu Muda Forest to double your chances of spotting roaming wildlife like elephants as your guide tells you about the native plants and wildlife that call this lush rainforest haven home.
  • Really slip into the local way of life, staying with a family on a homestay that gives real insight into village culture – play traditional games, learn fishing techniques and tuck into a home-cooked dinner.
  • Wander the historic mural-lined streets of Georgetown, the vibrant cultural hub of Penang, and marvel at contemporary art galleries and boutiques, traditional temples and churches.

What travelers are saying

"I've travelled with Intrepid in Vietnam, Morocco, Nepal and Egypt and had a brilliant time every time. The experience is better than most tours as you are in a small group that goes a bit more 'off the beaten track', and you don't get taken to endless shopping opportunites (i.e. a cousin's carpet shop). They also have higher ethics than most travel companies, they contribute to local charities and they avoid animal use (donkeys etc) where possible. The tour leaders we have had have all been wonderful, knowledgable and relaxed, with good english."
